class…
6th
annual session of the Model of the United Nations of Thessaloniki
It was Friday November 9, 2007 and
some of the students of the 2nd Peiramatiko Lykeio of Thessaloniki were not
actually making plans for the weekend. They were at the American Farm
School participating in
the 6th Session of the Model of the United Nations of Thessaloniki
as representatives of Germany
(Mountogiannakis Alexander-George, Basiakou Alexandra, Alexakis Stefanos,
Beggli Katerina). Russian Federation ( Bourmetsika Chrysa, Polychroniadis
Alkiviadis, Kotti Sofia- Irene, Koukouli Linda, Ziamou Mariza, Stafylidou Katerina,
Sakellaridou Maria-Helen) and Romania (Economidou
Christina, Bobou Helen, Baxe Anna).They researched and talked about several
matters concerning all area topics of current affairs and most importantly our
everyday lives until Sunday when the session was declared closed. During those
three fascinating days nothing would have been possible without the help of the
Security Staff of the conference and we are proud to have two people of our
school: Ziamou Lydia
and Voutsidou Pavlina , in it. With the invaluable guidance and assistance of
Mrs Angeliki Mane, the teacher of English of the Lykeio, the students in
question managed not only successfully to participate in the conference but
also to exceed as members of our society by doing something that everybody is
talking about but very few seem to have achieved by now: get involved.
